This is how your HAUPTSTADTKOFFER-Suitcase can be repaired

Your case consists of screwed and easily replaceable components. This means you can easily replace parts such as the telescopic handle or castors yourself.
You can buy spare parts such as wheels, handles and telescopic rods for your capital suitcase directly here in our shop.

TELESCOPIC HANDLE CHANGE

  1. Open the zipper of the inner lining in the suitcase (Fig.1).
  2. Remove the screw protective film (Fig.2).
  3. The screws (number: 6) can be loosened with a Phillips screwdriver (Fig. 2).
  4. Pull out the defective telescopic rod above the case and replace it with a new one.
  5. Use some force to pull out the telescopic rod as slight resistance may occur from time to time.

ROLE CHANGE

  1. Open the zipper of the inner lining in the suitcase (Fig.1).
  2. Remove the screw protective film (Fig.2).
  3. The screws (number: 8) can be loosened with a Phillips screwdriver (Fig. 2).
  4. Remove the defective wheels and replace them.

YOUR SUITCASE IS DAMAGED...

  1. First check whether the damage could have been caused by transport and improper loading and unloading by the airline. In this case, please contact the relevant airline
  2. If there is any damage to the hard shell, zipper, wheels or telescopic rod, etc., which could result from production or material errors, please contact info@hauptstadtkoffer.de
  3. Warranty period: 5 years on the hard shell, 2 years on the zipper, wheels, telescopic rod, inner part
  4. Send us a photo of the damage, a short description and a copy of the invoice
  5. Our service team will assess the damage and advise how the damage can be repaired
  6. We only repair HAUPTSTADTKOFFER branded suitcases
  7. If the zipper gets stuck, you can make it run more smoothly with a pencil, bar of soap, or a candle
  8. If the slider no longer connects the teeth, a tooth may need to be pressed into place with the pliers
  9. If the carrying handle breaks, a replacement will be required. Tighten the new handle with the screws to secure it in place
  10. If the telescopic handle breaks, the lining (using the zipper) inside the case must be removed. Loosen the screws and insert the replacement
  11. If the rollers squeak, the rotation axis of the rollers should be lubricated and all deposits removed
  12. If there is a crack in the hard-shell case, a sandable two-component adhesive can help to repair the area
