This is how your Hauptstadtkoffer can be repaired
Your suitcase is made of screwed and easily replaceable components. Parts like the telescopic handle or wheels can be easily replaced by yourself.
Spare parts like wheels, handles, and telescopic rods can be purchased for your Hauptstadtkoffer directly here in
our shop.

Telescopic Handle & Wheel Replacement

Telescopic Handle Replacement
- Open the zipper of the inner lining in the suitcase (Fig.1).
- Remove the screw protection foil (Fig.2).
- The screws (Quantity: 6) can be loosened with a Phillips screwdriver (Fig.2).
- Pull out the defective telescopic rod from the top of the suitcase and replace it with a new one.
- Use some force to pull out the telescopic rod, as there may be slight resistance from time to time.

Wheel Replacement
- Open the zipper of the inner lining in the suitcase (Fig.1).
- Remove the screw protection foil (Fig.2).
- The screws (Quantity: 8) can be loosened with a Phillips screwdriver (Fig.2).
- Remove the defective wheels and replace them.
Your suitcase has a damage...
- First check whether the damage could have been caused by improper handling during transport by the airline. In this case, please contact the respective airline.
- If there is damage to the hard shell, zipper, wheels, or telescopic rod, etc., that could be due to manufacturing or material defects, please contact info@hauptstadtkoffer.de
- Warranty period: 5 years for the hard shell, 2 years for zipper, wheels, telescopic rod, interior.
- Send us a photo of the damage, a short description, and a copy of the invoice.
- Our service team will assess the damage and inform you how it can be fixed.
- We only repair suitcases of the Hauptstadtkoffer brand.
- If the zipper is stuck, it can be made smoother using a pencil, bar of soap, or candle.
- If the slider no longer connects the teeth, a tooth may need to be pushed into place with pliers.
- If the carrying handle breaks, a replacement is needed. Attach the new handle using the screws.
- If the telescopic handle breaks, the lining inside the suitcase must be removed (using the zipper). Unscrew the screws and insert the replacement.
- If the wheels squeak, the wheel axle should be lubricated and all residues removed.
- For cracks in the hard shell suitcase, a sandable two-component adhesive can help to repair the spot.
